Terms of Service
The straightforward terms that apply when you hire Wilson Utility & Excavation.
Last updated: October 2026. These terms apply to excavation, septic, and site work performed by Wilson Utility & Excavation.
Estimates & Quotes
- Free estimates are based on a site walk-through or the information you provide and reflect conditions we can reasonably observe.
- Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date issued. Prices may change if conditions on site differ from what was discussed — such as hidden rock, buried debris, wet ground, or unseen utilities.
- A quote is not a contract until work is scheduled and confirmed in writing or by phone.
Scheduling & Weather
- Work dates are scheduled in good faith but depend on weather and ground conditions. Rain, snow, or saturated ground can delay work, and we will reschedule as quickly as conditions allow.
- We will contact you as soon as we know of a delay. Delays from weather or ground conditions are not grounds for cancellation charges against us.
Payment
- Payment terms are agreed before work begins. Unless other terms are agreed in writing, payment is due when the work is completed.
- We accept cash, check, and electronic payment. Late payments may delay scheduling of future work.
Property Access & Utilities
- You are responsible for providing clear, safe access to the work area, including gates unlocked and pets secured on scheduled days.
- We locate public utility lines through Missouri 811 before digging wherever required. Private lines — sprinklers, septic laterals, electric to outbuildings, invisible fences — are the property owner's responsibility to mark or disclose. Damage to unmarked private lines is not our responsibility.
Changes to the Work
- Changes requested after work starts — additional clearing, deeper cuts, moved boundaries — are quoted separately before they are performed.
- We do not bill for changes you did not approve first.
Site Condition & Restoration
- Excavation leaves disturbed ground. Unless finish grading, seeding, or cleanup is included in your quote, the site will be left in a work-safe but rough condition.
- We discuss what restored means for your specific job before work begins so there are no surprises.
Liability
- We carry liability insurance and work to keep every job site safe. We are not responsible for damage caused by undisclosed private utilities, pre-existing site conditions, or acts of nature.
- Our liability for any claim is limited to the amount paid for the work in question.
